Mathletics is widely used in New Zealand schools and we are pleased to be able to offer our home educating families a great subscription rate. Mathletics covers all aspects of mathematics and is suitable for students aged 5 through to 18yrs, following the NZ curriculum. You can find out more at the Mathletics website. As a member of NCHENZ you can access Mathletics for $31.50 per child per year. Readiwriter is also offered by the same company – if you also have Readiwriter then you will be able to use the same log in details and switch between the two programs with ease.

The subscription begins on 25th February 2021 and expires 15th February 2022.

Late subscribers will be able to access a pro-rata price as follows:

  • Join to start on 25th February or any time after that date in Term 1 – $31.50
  • Join any time during Term 2 – $28.50
  • Join any time during Term 3 – $22.00
  • Join any time during Term 4 – $16.00
  • Join between 1st and 14th December – $11.70

The expiry date will be 15th February 2022 no matter when you start. Subscriptions may not be set up during the school holidays as our volunteers may be on leave. Subscriptions will not be set up from 15th December until the end of January while our volunteers have a break before the large number of renewals in February each year.

Enrolment process:

Complete the form and then make payment (account details are below the form). To take up this offer you must be a member of NCHENZ and remain a member for the duration of this subscription period. Membership is free and very easy to complete, go to our Family Membership form. If you don’t know your NCHENZ membership number click here to request it. Please wait until you have your membership number before subscribing and ensure you use your membership number, your child’s last name, and “maths” as the reference when making payment. The Mathletics subscription can be used for a preschooler as long as you genuinely intend to home educate that child; any child aged over six years must have a current Exemption Certificate from the Ministry of Education.

Who administers this program:

Nadia Sole manages this program. She is a homeschooling mum in Christchurch who volunteers on the NCHENZ Executive Committee. She is not employed by Mathletics. Every single member of the committee is a volunteer. They all have lives outside of the committee, they all have children they homeschool. Some of the Committee members volunteer within their communities, some have part time jobs or work from home. Be kind to these people, they do an amazing job for all New Zealand home educators.

Please note, you must choose a year level for Mathletics for each child you enrol. There is no placement test. If you don’t know what year level your child is at then check here for information about NZ School Year Levels according to age. If you want your child to initially find the program a little easy then choose a lower year level to start with. You can change this year level up or down by email at any point and as many times as necessary throughout the year.

Refund policy:

The NCHENZ policy is not to give refunds if you change your mind after making payment unless there are exceptional circumstances. If you feel you have exceptional reasons for requesting a refund, please write to the NCHENZ Committee at services@nchenz.org.nz within seven days of receiving your log in details and they will consider your request. After seven days it is unlikely that a refund will be approved because NCHENZ will have paid the supplier for your subscription. In the case where a refund is approved, the funds will be paid to the original payer only and a NZ bank account number must be provided. An administration fee of $5/subscription will be deducted from all refunds.

Please note:

While NCHENZ is appreciative of being able to offer a reduced Mathletics subscription to members, please note that this should not be seen as an endorsement or promotion of the program. We offer this as a service to our members simply because the opportunity has arisen and we think our members will be interested.
