Getting an exemption from school (from AHE website) In NZ, school enrolment is compulsory for children age between 6 – 16 yrs.
The terms of the Education Act whereby parents can apply for an exemption from compulsory enrolment are found in the Education Act, 1989, Section 21 (Long term exemption from enrolment). You can read the whole Education Act here ( use the index on the left.)

asTTle testing which asTTle stands for Assessment Tools for Teaching and Learning,  is currently being moved to an online version. Some sections are planned to be available in 2008.  It  is expected to become fully available in 2009.
